Balms are oil based unlike other lotions that are water based. Balms consist of butters, oils & waxes.
Balms are formulated to soothe, hydrate & repair. Balms can work as an intense moisturiser or can be applied to small areas. Balms don't need water unlike lotions, meaning no preservatives or emulsifiers are needed. Balms last along time as only small applications are needed
Balms consist of oils & butters which have to be melted. Then it takes patience & time to blend the liquids at a certain temperature to get the correct cooling point & pouring technique. Timing & efficiency is paramount to be ready to pour & set. A lot of love goes into the formulation of these beauties.
If your balm melts, maybe it has been left in the car on a hot day or sat in a sun spot, don't worry it will reset but you can help it along by popping it in the fridge.
This may happen if your balm has melted & reset without you realising. The balm still works & has all the health benefits & properties still. You will just notice the texture when applying to the skin has little grainy particles. These will melt in to your skin as soon as applied.
To prevent this just make sure your balms are stored in regular or cool temperatures away from direct sunlight.
Your balm wants to look after your skin so just remember to care for your balms by keeping them away from direct sunlight & stored in regular to cool temperates.
I hope you love your balm. Look after it as it will last a long, long time for you x
